New PSA Aims to Help Americans Fight for their Vision

Prevent Blindness (with support from Bausch + Lomb) Shares Stories of WhyEyeFight and recommendations to fight for your sight for Age-Related Macular Degeneration Awareness Month.

Our eyes allow us to see the beauty of the world around us. Now imagine not being able to see? What would you miss the most?
 
11 million Americans are diagnosed with are diagnosed with Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and are at risk of losing their central vision. One in five people over the age of 65 will be diagnosed with AMD.


This new PSA, WhyEyeFight, shares recommendations from the National Eye Institute to help prevent AMD and seeks to raise awareness about how it impacts people's lives. 

The spots include patients sharing their stories of why they're fighting for their vision with the help of Prevent Blindness, a not for profit organization, and Bausch + Lomb, two organizations bringing awareness to this progressive condition during National AMD Awareness Month this February. We hope you will be able to use these spots when public service time is available this month and throughout the year.
