Women in Government Supports From Hope to Cures and Biopharmaceutical Research

Women In Government Foundation Logo
Dear PSA Director,

Women In Government is a national, non-profit, non-partisan organization of women state legislators providing leadership opportunities, networking, expert forums, and educational resources for over 25 years on policy issues such as healthcare, education, energy, the environment, transportation, and more.

Women In Government hosted its 23rd Annual Midwestern Regional Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota and offered women state legislator attendees the opportunity to record public service announcements to highlight the importance of innovation in the pharmaceutical industry with the goal of increased patient outcomes.

With the U.S. projected to spend 13.5 trillion dollars on hospital care over the next decade, it is more important than ever that new medicines continue to be developed that will keep patients healthy and out of the hospital.

The work these companies do has already contributed to the remarkable progress that has been made in the fight against chronic diseases. The development of new, innovative medicines has caused cancer death rates to decline 23%; transformed HIV and AIDs from an acute, fatal illness into a manageable disease; and provided cure rates of more than 90 percent for Hepatitis C.

Please support us in our continued efforts to raise awareness about the importance of biopharma innovation by airing this PSA. To learn more, visit www.fromhopetocures.org, and to learn more about Women In Government's work in this area, please visit www.womeningovernment.org

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Dyan Alexander
