National Cholesterol Awareness

Women In Government Foundation Logo
Dear PSA Director,

More than 102 million American adults age 20 and older suffer from high cholesterol. High cholesterol is a major risk factor for heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States.

Women In Government, a national, non-profit, non-partisan organization of women state legislators, is asking for your support to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining healthy cholesterol levels.

High cholesterol usually doesn't have any symptoms. As a result, many people do not know that their cholesterol levels are too high. However, doctors can do a simple blood test to check cholesterol levels. High cholesterol can be controlled through lifestyle changes and medications as necessary.

Women In Government hosted its 22nd Annual Midwestern Regional Conference in Overland Park, Kansas and asked women state legislators from across the region to record public service announcements to raise Cholesterol Awareness.

Women In Government has provided leadership opportunities, networking, expert forums, and educational resources for over 25 years on policy issues such as healthcare, education, energy, the environment, transportation, and more. To learn more, visit www.womeningovernment.org

Please support us in our continued efforts by airing this PSA. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Dyan Alexander
