New PSA addresses why bystanders may not perform CPR on women

It’s a life or death situation that none of us hope to be in but need to know what to do if it happens. Here’s a scary statistic – over 350,000 cardiac arrests happen outside of a hospital each year in the U.S. Yet, here’s a more promising one – CPR, if performed immediately, can triple a person’s chance of survival. But here’s the problem: women are less likely to receive bystander CPR in public. Here’s how you can be the solution.

There are several reasons why bystanders may not perform CPR on women, including concerns about inappropriate contact or causing injury to women. But when it comes to cardiac arrest, every second counts and there’s no time like now to educate people about the two simple steps of Hands-Only CPR and how they can make a difference.

Please help us show people that there’s no difference in performing CPR on a woman compared to a man. In this emotional PSA, you’ll follow two best friends as they go through some of life’s happiest moments – childhood, graduation, getting married, and having a baby. Then you’ll see the same women go through the worst moment of their lives when one of them suffers a cardiac arrest.
