Empowering Women, Transforming Heart Health — A Public Service Announcement from the American Heart Association

Release Date: 21 Nov 2025
American Heart Association: Research Goes Red – Women Changing Heart Health - 30 Sec TV

How the American Heart Association’s Research Goes Red Initiative is Empowering Women to Change the Future of Heart Health

Did you know cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the No. 1 killer of women, claiming more lives each year than all forms of cancer combined?

For decades, women have been underrepresented, underdiagnosed, and undertreated when it comes to heart disease — and most clinical research hasn’t included women or analyzed women-specific heart health data. That means what we know about cardiovascular care often doesn’t reflect the unique needs of women across every age and stage of life.

That’s why the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement launched Research Goes Red — an initiative empowering woman across the U.S. to help shape the future of women’s heart health. Participants can contribute through simple, at-home surveys and studies that advance understanding of prevention, care, and treatment. Together, we can drive progress toward longer, healthier lives for women everywhere.

By airing this PSA, you’ll help raise awareness for the Research Goes Red initiative and encourage women everywhere to take charge of their heart health and join this growing movement for change.
